Date of Availability

The Request for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan form will be available to download on or after July 1, 2008.*

*The 2008-2009 Federal Direct Loan activation date has been postponed to on or after July 1, 2008, due to the recent changes in state university fees and changes to the Federal Direct Loan Program's interest rates and loan limits.

To ensure that your loan is available at the start of the fall semester, submit the Request for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan form by:

Mid-July 2008

If your student will not begin attending SDSU until the spring 2009 semester, submit your Request for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan form by mid-November 2008.

Where to Obtain a Copy of the Form

After July 1, 2008, return to this Web site to download and print the Request for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan or have your student download the form from his/her Aidlink Award Notification.

Once your loan request is received, your information will be forwarded to the Direct Loan Servicing Center. 

Completing the Loan Process Online

To complete the Master Promissory Note online, you will need your own Federal Student Aid PIN.
