Please read the following before you send an e-mail to our office.

General Questions—

Send your questions about general financial aid processes, procedures, and programs to e-mail inquires to fao@mail.sdsu.edu.

Only general questions can be answered by e-mail.  By federal law we cannot divulge any personal or confidential information regarding any student's file via e-mail. 

You must include—

• the student's first and last name, and
• the student's Red ID Number, if applicable.

This e-mail is not secure, therefore do not include—

• any Social Security,
• financial/bank account, and
• credit card numbers or identifiers.

Response times for e-mail questions will vary—

During non-peak periods:

• Messages are reviewed once each day;
• Replies will be sent within 5 to 7 workdays

During peak periods (first month of fall, spring, and summer semesters):

• Replies will be sent up to 10 workdays.

Speak directly to our financial aid counselors for answers to detailed questions.
