Your financial aid can be canceled if:

  • You are academically disqualified from the university.
  • You are deficient 6.1 units or more at the end of the spring semester.
  • You have completed more than 150 units or 12 full-time equivalent semesters as an undergraduate student.
  • You have completed more than 50 units or 6 full-time equivalent semesters as a classified graduate or as a classified postbaccalaureate student.
    •  An adjustment can be made for classified graduate students who are enrolled in a degree program requiring more than 50 units.
  • You have completed four semesters of thesis coursework
    • You may submit a written appeal with a letter of support from your thesis chair or adviser that explains when you will complete your thesis or comprehensive exams.
  • You are not enrolled at least half-time at census (specific aid programs).
  • You withdraw from SDSU.
You may request reinstatement of aid eligibility when you reestablish the minimum financial aid academic standards (refer to Academic Progress Requirements - How to Reestablish Eligibility). Eligibility will be based on available funding at the time of reinstatement.
