Setup Vacation Reply (webmail)
Auto-reply responds to incoming messages with a customized reply. Auto-reply continues to respond to your incoming mail until you specifically turn it off.
To start Auto-reply, follow these steps.
- Log in to your email account at https://webmail.sdsu.edu.
- Click the Options link, and then click Auto-reply. Result: The Auto-reply page displays.
- Select Yes for the Auto-reply to Messages option and enter the following data:
- Subject: Text for the Subject line of your reply; for example, Away from my mail until March 5.
- Message: Text for the message body of the reply; for example, Please direct urgent issues to Joe User.
- Message Charset: Specify the character set for your reply from the drop-down list. This selection overrides the character set specified by your preferences, if different.
- Click Apply.
Result: A confirmation message displays; Auto-reply is started, and your custom reply is sent in response to incoming mail—until you stop it. - To stop the auto-reply mechanism, select No for the Auto-reply to Messages option and click Apply. Result: A confirmation message displays, Auto-reply is stopped.
